Four beaches ring Tallinn in Harju County: Laulasmaa's protected lagoon on Lahepere Bay for lessons, Stroomi's sandy Kopli Bay beach for tricks, Kakumäe's western city beach, and Salmistu further east on the Gulf of Finland.

Conditions run May through October on synoptic and mixed wind, with shallow sandy launches throughout and none built for serious waves.
