Very shallow a long way out. The bottom is sand and shelves gently, so you wade a long distance before it goes over your head, which is the reason beginners get sent here. No one has published the distance in metres.

Effectively tide-free. There is no usable tidal range in this corner of the Baltic, so no session has to be timed to the water. Level shifts instead with wind and air pressure, and a run of strong westerlies pushes the level up in the gulf.

Public sandy city beach at Pelguranna tn 58, north Tallinn. Large grass rigging area behind the sand and a large car park, with changing cabins, lockers, showers, two outdoor cafes, volleyball courts and an outdoor gym. The walk from the parking to the water is short.

Rider tips
- After heavy rain, check the bathing-water notice before going in; this beach has a pollution history.
- In the swimming season (about 15.05-30.09) rig and ride on the left side of the beach only; the surf zone is about 50 m wide.
- Wait for N, W or NW; nothing else is recommended here.
- Lifeguards work the beach June 1 to August 31, 10:00-20:00 (2025 schedule); outside those hours you are on your own.
- From central Tallinn it is about 17-19 minutes by public transport; from the airport take the tram or a taxi into town first.
- There is no tide to time. Pick the day on wind alone.
- Bus 40 drops you at the beach if you are travelling without a car.

Stroomi is in north Tallinn, at Pelguranna tn 58 in the Kalamaja direction. Bus 40 runs there from the city centre and the trip from central Tallinn is about 17-19 minutes. From the airport, take the tram or a taxi into town first.
