Rider tips
- Use the lagoon map point south of the lighthouse, not the Mērsraga bāka entry, unless you want the rockier sea-side launch.
- Walk the kit in when the forest track is soft; the ground either side of it is protected coastal terrain.
- Look over the northern end of the lagoon for rocks before riding close to shore.
- Do not fly over Lake Engure itself; the nature-park rules ban kiteboards and windsurf boards on the lake in the reserve zone.
- Bring cold-water gear even in summer, because July-August sea temperature averages only around 18.5-19 C.
