Marsa Alam North Channel is the thin end of the Marsa Alam listings: a big open sand beach with no restrictions on it, choppy water with small to medium waves, and reef.
Wadi Lahami is about as far south as Egyptian kiting goes: the village sits 10 km south of Hamata and roughly 180 km south of Marsa Alam Airport, and everything runs through the resort's kite centre.

There is nothing here except the kiting. No town, no bars, no walk to anywhere - camp food, desert and the lagoon, and people either love that or count the days.

Getting down there is the tax on the trip: roughly two and a half hours by road from the airport, and the standing advice is to pre-arrange a driver rather than rent a car.

The far south is reliable rather than powerful. Repeat visitors describe turning up and getting wind almost every day but riding 9-12m most of the time, not the nuking conditions the region's reputation suggests.

Winter this far south is not the guaranteed fix it is sold as. February trips in particular come back with almost nothing, December can be four good days out of seven, and a repeat winter visitor describes waking to a howling wind that is already offshore and fading by breakfast, then nothing until the following night.

No, the kite camps organize their own transfers from the airport; independent car hire is unnecessary on the remote desert road.
How do I get there?
Fly into Marsa Alam International Airport, then it is roughly 2.5 hours of desert driving to reach Hamata and Wadi Lahami, arranged as a resort or kite-center transfer.
