The spot

Senigallia is a Marche spot with an authorized kite beach on the south seafront, at Lungomare Leonardo da Vinci 95, with synthetic-grass rigging mats and parking right behind it. The main beach is fine sand over a shallow sandy bottom; Marzocca, the other launch riders use, is small stones and drops away a few metres from shore, so it matters which of the two you walk onto.

Directions and wind

Directions that work are N, NW, NE, E and SE, and the names you will hear on the beach are Tramontana, Grecale, Levante and Maestrale. A published average of about 11 knots with 21-knot gusts is attached to W, which is offshore on this coast, so the figure and the direction do not sit together. Spring and autumn are the honest wind seasons, even though January, March and April top the windiest-months count.

Summer and lessons

Summer is the problem: the bathing establishments take the sand and launching is limited to the authorized kite beach (2026), so a July session is a rules session as much as a wind session. Schools carry riders from a first lesson through to hydrofoil, and light-wind foil runs 10-11 m kites in under 10 knots; no freeride size range has been published.

2026: Launch corridors for craft including kitesurf are authorized by the Comune di Senigallia under the current Ancona Coast Guard bathing-safety ordinance; last updated 10 June 2026. In summer, launching is only from the authorized Kite Beach because of swimmers.

Work out before you rig whether you are on the sandy Senigallia beach or the small-stone Marzocca side, because the bottom and the depth are not the same.
Park next to Centro Kitesurf Senigallia rather than hunting the seafront on a June to September weekend.
For sub-10-knot days bring a foil; the local light-wind kit is 10-11 m and there is no documented freeride size range.
A day pass at the centre has been quoted at 10 EUR with insurance, board storage and a shower, and 5 EUR for following days; unconfirmed for 2026, so ask when you book.
Count on about 104 windy days a year rather than on a wind window: the good wind is frontal and can land at any hour.
