Piantarella
Piantarella is a shallow lagoon east of Bonifacio, held flat by the sandbank that runs out to Ile de Piana, with the Lavezzi Islands on the horizon at the southern tip of Corsica.
La Tonnara
La Tonnara is the west-side Bonifacio spot, a sand beach on the south side of the Gulf of Ventilegne with free parking and restaurants right behind it.
Pont de Ventilègne
Pont de Ventilègne is the small enclosed bay just north of Bonifacio where the road bridge crosses the water, and it is where the local schools teach.
Baie de Figari
Baie de Figari is a thermal bay in south-west Corsica, 10 minutes from Figari airport and just past Pianottoli-Caldarello.
Porto Pollo - Plage du Taravo
Porto Pollo - Plage du Taravo is the Corsican one, in the Valinco gulf, not the Sardinian Porto Pollo.
Plage de Capu Laurosu
Capu Laurosu is the long sand beach just south of Propriano in the Valinco gulf, 3.5-4 km of it, cut in two by the Rizzanese river mouth, with nothing sold on it and nobody watching it.

Strong wind is not something to count on - across a ten to twenty day stay a properly windy maestrale day may come once, and some years none at all; an October trip was rated a lovely holiday but not the spot to pick if maximum water time is the goal

Is it suitable for beginners?
Piantarella's sandbank creates flat, standing-depth water that is attractive for freeride, wingfoil and supervised progression, making it the beginner-friendly option near Bonifacio.
What about wave or thermal spots?
La Tonnara and Baie de Figari offer wave and thermal-driven conditions further along the coast, though La Tonnara has rocks and little downwind margin in west wind.
Is a car needed?
Yes, Piantarella is a short drive east of town and there is no reliable local transit.
How do I get there?
Fly into Figari-Sud Corse, about 20 minutes from Bonifacio; ferries also connect Bonifacio to Santa Teresa Gallura in Sardinia.
Where should I base myself?
The Haute Ville citadel gives historic atmosphere and restaurants, while the marina/harbor area is closer to the water and evening cafes.
