  2. Since 11 June 2026 you can no longer drive to La Nautique: the access road was blocked to enforce the ban on parking vehicles on beaches. Riding there is not itself forbidden - you simply have no way to bring gear to the water, and a petition and talks about building a car park nearby are the current state of play.

  5. The Vieille Nouvelle is not the friendly wide beach it looks like from the car park. The Tramontane there blows straight out to sea, the submerged bank that gives you standing depth runs about fifty metres and no further, and the advice is blunt: this is for riders who can hold their ground upwind.

  1. The Grazel pond at the edge of town is the release valve: shallow, official kite zone, rideable in any wind direction, and where the schools work - it is where people fall back to when the sea side gets out of hand.

  2. Wind is not the scarce thing here, water space is: on Tramontane days the Vieille Nouvelle carries kites, wings and boards at once and the local reminders are about sharing the spot rather than about finding wind.
