Palanga's three beaches run a clear difficulty gradient north to south.
Nemirseta is the entry point, a long clean beach with no shorebreak that local guidance calls ideal for beginners on south through north winds. Kunigiškiai and Šventoji push harder, with 1.5-5 m waves, strong shorebreak and shifting sandbars that put both firmly in intermediate-to-advanced territory, best April through October.

The bathing areas inside them were fixed by administration order No. A1-174 of 8 February 2022. A functional active-leisure zone for extreme water sports was then established on the southern Šventoji beach by administration order No. A1-679 of 4 May 2022, and that zone is the designated area for board sports here.
