The quiver, in words
Indicative for a 75-85 kg rider, derived from the 12-22 knot working range rather than from any local size list: 13-14 m or a foil on the light early-summer days around 12-14 knots, 12 m through the middle of the range, 9-10 m once the Meltemi is over 20 knots. Nothing local is published on sizes.
Direction to shore
NE is the direction to want. The exact angle to the shore is unconfirmed.
Dominant direction
N/NNE (direct Meltemi), combined with a channeled NW component exiting the North Euboean Gulf; typically NW in the morning shifting to NNE in the afternoon

modelled
A weather model's cell over this place, not a station on it. Good for comparing places, weaker for one beach.
Modelled from weather reanalysis on a 10–25 km grid (2022-2024), not a ground station: reliable for trade and synoptic winds, understates thermal sea breezes and valley winds. The typical daily max and the direction are columns of the table above, month by month. Highlighted months are the riding season from the spot record.

Type

Standing depth
Shallow and clear close in over sand with pebble and small-stone patches, the reason the beach is used by families with children, then depth builds progressively as you walk out. No measured distance to chest depth is published, and how far the standing band runs at the kite launch specifically is unconfirmed.
Tides
Kitesurfing conditions are reported not to depend on tide.
Temperature
26.8°C summer · 13.6°C winter
Wetsuit
Warm-water kit in summer. A spring suit reportedly handles Easter, and a full wetsuit is needed in the cold months, which is derived from sea-temperature averages.
Currents
Currents can occur at the northern tip of Evia, especially in strong wind.

Rider tips
- Book school supervision for your first sessions here, especially with the Meltemi up or swimmers in the water.
- Arrive early in July and August; the parking along the coast road and the village streets fills.
- Check the N/NNE Meltemi and the NW gulf channel separately before you drive, because they do not arrive at the same hour.
- Keep clear of the rocks at the far ends of the beach when you land.
