Kitesurfing in Veneto

12 spots · 3 destinations · 25 schools

Twelve spots, ten on the Adriatic.

Bora from the north-east and Scirocco from the south-east run the coast in spring and autumn. Sottomarina works at the north end by the Diga; the Jesolo accesses sit under 10 knots until a Bora arrives at 30-40; Cortellazzo stands its waves up on the outgoing Piave current. Bibione is shallow and enormous, and a 2024 ordinance keeps kites out of its 500 m bathing band from 1 May to 30 September except through a marked corridor. Inland is a different season: Malcesine takes the Pelèr in the morning and the Ora after lunch, Lago di Santa Croce a 15-25 knot afternoon thermal.

Veneto holds 12 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 3 destinations. Riding here is mostly flat water and lagoons. Something is rideable here in every month of the year. 7 of them suits beginners. 25 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Lake Garda, Grado and Chioggia.
