North through east is the clean band, side-shore to side-onshore across open water; northwest is side-offshore but rideable. West arrives over the dune strip broken up and offshore, and south to southwest sits in the shadow of the town.

About 800 m of standable water off the launch over a sandy bottom. The fjord averages around 1.5 m and reaches 2-3 m at its deepest, with seagrass and algae in the shallows and flat patches close in where the board touches, so a long foil mast is the wrong tool here.

- 2026: no municipal or spot-specific kite rule has been found for the Nord launch.
- 2026: the surf centre at Gytjevej 15 is open 10:00-17:00 daily, and the marked school and beginner areas on the water are to be left alone during those hours.
- Parking at the launch is paid, reportedly around 40 DKK a day, and overnight parking is not allowed (2026).
- The southwest corner of Ringkobing Fjord at Tipperne is a bird reservation with its own access limits. It is far from Hvide Sande, but it matters if you ride or drive down the fjord.

Rider tips
- Learn and train on the fjord; go to the North Sea side only when you want waves and can handle shorebreak.
- Check the direction before driving: west and south/southwest are sheltered or gusty at Nord, east through north is clean.
- Bring full neoprene in shoulder season; the fjord runs 8-13 C in spring and 8-14 C in autumn.
- Expect a packed launch during school hours and the June to September holiday weeks; there is room once you are off the beach.
- Ask WestWind about current zones or launch rules before rigging; nothing is published for 2026.
- Fly into Billund and rent a car; train and bus from there take about three hours.
- Rig on the grass rather than the sand; it is a few metres from the water and it keeps the gear clean.
- Leave the long foil mast at home: about 1.5 m of water on average, seagrass, and flat patches near shore.
- Parking is paid at around 40 DKK a day and sleeping in the van there is not allowed.
