Ilha do Guajiru

Ilha do Guajiru is a barrier-island/peninsula system in Itarema municipality made up of four beaches (Praia do Farol, Praia do Guajirú, Praia da Barra and Praia das Dunas) fringed by mangroves, with the Farol de Itapajé lighthouse as its landmark. Kiters know it for mangrove-lagoon 'kite safari' downwind trips - flat-to-choppy water inside the mangrove channels with open ocean waves just outside - and it is a regular stop between Icaraí de Amontada and Fleixeiras on the Ceará downwind trail.
