Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti)

Golden Beach is a wide sandy bay on Paros's southeast coast that has hosted windsurfing World Cup/World Championship events, prized for its consistent side-shore Meltemi and long shallow shelf. It is one of Paros's most popular beaches and now hosts several watersports centers, including Force7 and Paros Surf Club, catering to kitesurfers and windsurfers of all levels.

Monthly wind statistics

Station: Paros (island, near Parikia) (WeatherSpark, ~18 km) — Station is WeatherSpark's Paros point (near Parikia town), ~15-20 km NW of Golden Beach on the same small island, so broadly representative. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: this metric is raw average hourly wind speed from a reanalysis model, which is dragged up by winter storm fronts (Oct-Apr) - it is NOT the same as reliable kiteable-wind probability. The famous summer Meltemi (Jun-Sep, the actual kiting season per known_best_months) is a highly consistent thermal-enhanced N wind that windfinder-style '%time >=4Bft' stats would show as the best season, but that specific probability metric was unavailable (windfinder.com returned HTTP 429 rate-limit errors on every attempt this session). No dominant-direction breakdown by month was given by the source (only 'north year-round'), so N was applied to all months.
