The spot

New Golden Beach, also called Tserdakia or Nea Chrissi Akti, is the sandy bay just north of Golden Beach on the east side of Paros, about 5 minutes from Drios. It faces the Paros-Naxos channel, which accelerates the summer Meltemi and is why the beach has a windsurfing history that includes World Cup events. The wind is north to north-northeast, cross-shore, commonly 20-30 knots in the stronger spells, and the channel builds real chop outside.

For kites this is a secondary Paros spot and an intermediate-plus one: the water goes deep after roughly the first 30 m, parking is limited, and no dedicated kitesurf school on this exact beach is on record. If you want lessons or a kite-only beach with rescue, cross to Pounta on the west side. You share the water with windsurfers, wingfoilers, swimmers and watersports traffic, so treat the launch as local knowledge rather than open sand.

Water temperature and seasons

Summer water runs 22.5-24.8 C average June-August and about 24.0 C in September, falling to around 16-17 C in winter (16.0-17.6 C average December-March), so lycra or a 2 mm shorty covers the season people come for. July and August bring the best wind reliability and the worst of the crowding.
