Sandy bottom on the Puck Bay side, averaging about a metre near shore, so you have ground underfoot through most of a lesson and can walk a long way out over the Rybitwia and Mewia shallows.Depth follows the sandbars and wind-driven water level, not tide. The open Baltic side across the spit is deeper and rougher, and the offshore Mewia Rewa is reached by boat rather than waded to.

Kuźnica has school bases on the bay and village side: ABC Surf, SurfJo, MaxSurf, Water Sports Center. The beach is sandy, the shallows reach a long way out, the bay is sheltered.The Kuźnicka Mewia Rewa that KiteClub uses lies offshore and is only reachable by motorboat or RIB from its base. The Baltic beach is a separate open-sea option across the narrow spit, shared with swimmers during the guarded bathing season.

Rider tips
- Ask whether the day runs from the Kuźnica shore base or by boat out to Kuźnicka Mewia Rewa; the logistics and the rescue assumptions are not the same.
- Take first lessons in June or September: usable wind, without the Polish holiday crush.
- Check the Kuźnica Szkoła bathing-water page through the summer, because blue-green algae has closed the water in recent seasons.
- If you bring foil gear, confirm real depth and the launch corridor with a local school; the bay is shallow in places that look wide open.
- Use the train, or arrive early on a summer weekend; the single road through Władysławowo and Chałupy jams solid.
- Keep rigging and walking routes clear of the railway, the road, the harbour gear and the marked bathing area.
- Save 601 100 100 before you rig. It is the water-rescue number for the whole country, and the beach lifeguards only watch the marked bathing strip.
- A west day looks perfect on the forecast and disappoints at the water line, because it blows off the land here. Plan to get out past the gusty inshore band, or ride a different angle.

Drive or transfer via the Tri-City/S6 to Władysławowo, then DW216 along the Hel Peninsula; train access is also practical because Kuźnica is on the Reda-Hel railway and one stop from Jastarnia. In summer, traffic on the Władysławowo-Chałupy-Kuźnica section can add 1.5-2 hours on busy weekends.
