When it fills in
Spring and summer run on the sea breeze: it fills through the middle of the day and dies as the sun goes down. Winter and storm winds keep no such clock and can blow at any hour. Indicative: the daily pattern is the regional one for this coast, with no timing recorded at the beach itself.

locals call it Garbí / Llevant / Xaloc; also Levante, Gregal, Migjorn, Leveche in Alicante-area usage

Typical strength
15-20 knots is the usual range for the Garbi and Leveche that carry the season along this coast; SE Xaloc is the lighter one and often needs a big kite or a foil. Regional figures. Nothing is measured at Els Tossals, and the archived station that once stood at Guardamar stopped reporting in 2017.
The quiver, in words
On a 15-20 knot day a 75-85 kg rider is on a 10 m or a 12 m. SE Xaloc is the light direction and wants a 12 m or bigger, or a foil, to be worth rigging. Indicative: derived from the regional wind range, since no local size log or rental list is published.
Direction to shore
The beach faces roughly east-southeast. E Llevant and SE Xaloc come straight in onshore and are what puts the chop and the small waves on the water. N and NW blow off the land, and that is when the strip south of the harbour mole goes flat.SW arrives across the beach from the land side here, side-offshore rather than the sideshore it is on the Alicante city beaches. Derived from the orientation of the coastline, not from a local reading.
Dominant direction
ESE prevailing at the coast. E Llevant and SE Xaloc are the working sea directions; SW Garbi and S Migjorn are also ridden at Guardamar.

modelled
A weather model's cell over this place, not a station on it. Good for comparing places, weaker for one beach.
Modelled from weather reanalysis on a 10–25 km grid (2022-2024), not a ground station: reliable for trade and synoptic winds, understates thermal sea breezes and valley winds. The typical daily max and the direction are columns of the table above, month by month. Highlighted months are the riding season from the spot record.

A long sandy beach by the Guardamar dunes: 1,661 m of sand north of the Segura river mouth, with a signed naturist zone, dune vegetation and wooden walkways down to the water. It is the beach beside the nautical club, and the only one in the municipality where kitesurfing is permitted.Services are thin here compared with the town beaches, which is part of why the sport was put on it.

Rider tips
- Check the current Guardamar municipal zoning and hours before riding; the 2026 rules are time-based and the wording is unconfirmed.
- Come in off the N-332 near Alannia Guardamar and cross the dunes on the wooden walkways.
- In N or NW wind, ride south of the harbor mole for the cleaner flat water, and keep a margin off the mole itself.
- In June, July and August set up well north or south of the village front; that stretch is the crowded one.
- Check the current Guardamar zoning before riding: the permitted area is redrawn every year and the map is not online, so the beach signage or the nautical club is the only way to see it.
- In N or NW wind, ride south of the harbour mole for the cleaner flat water, and keep a margin off the mole itself.
- Riding outside the enabled zone is a 500 EUR offence (2021), and the ban covers every other beach in the municipality.
- Nobody is watching this beach. Els Tossals has no lifeguard post of its own and cover elsewhere in the municipality runs only from 1 June to 30 September plus Semana Santa.
