Rügen's Wittow peninsula (Wiek/Dranske) is a low-key Baltic base - lagoon-side kite villages backed by chalk cliffs, thatched cottages and a strong German holiday-island infrastructure rather than nightlife. Dranske sits on the Wieker Bodden side of the Wittow peninsula in northern Rügen, with the watersports base at Am Ufer doing most of the organising.
Wiek
Wiek sits on the eastern shore of the Wieker Bodden, a sheltered Baltic lagoon on Rügen's Wittow peninsula, and the reason to come is the standing depth.
Suhrendorf
Suhrendorf sits on Ummanz, off the west coast of Rügen, in the Schaproder Bodden with Hiddensee blocking the fetch.
Rosengarten
Rosengarten is a Bodden spot on the south-east of Rügen, east of Garz, looking out over the Greifswalder Bodden.
Alt Reddevitz
Alt Reddevitz is a small fishing village just west of Middelhagen on Rügen's Mönchgut peninsula, and the launch is a big meadow on the Hagensche Wiek, the shallow Bodden bay behind it.
Drewoldke
Drewoldke is the northern end of the Schaabe, the long Baltic beach just north of Juliusruh on Rügen, and it is open sea rather than a protected Bodden lagoon.
Nonnevitz
Nonnevitz is a Baltic wave beach on the north coast of Rügen, between Kreptitz and Kap Arkona.
Kreptitz
Kreptitz is a wave spot on the north coast of the Wittow peninsula on Rügen, a hamlet that belongs to Dranske, and you reach the water down a steel staircase off a cliff inside an 82.7-hectare nature reserve.
Zingst Strandaufgang 6
Zingst Strandaufgang 6 is the Sportstrand, the one beach in Zingst where kiting and windsurfing are allowed, and it is on the open Ostsee side, not the sheltered Bodden.
