Kitesurfing in Nouvelle-Aquitaine
29 spots · 5 destinations · 34 schools
This is the region's biggest cluster, and it splits cleanly by exposure: Lacanau Ocean and Le Porge are advanced-only Atlantic beachbreak with baïnes and shorebreak, while the freshwater lakes at Cazaux-Sanguinet (Mayotte, Navarrosse) and Carcans-Hourtin (Hourtin Port) offer tideless, wave-free flat water built for lessons.
Ile de Ré and Oléron add a sheltered middle ground - Rivedoux, Banc du Bucheron and Boyardville all work shallow and mostly flat around the bay.
Nouvelle-Aquitaine holds 29 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 5 destinations. Riding here is mostly lagoons and waves. Something is rideable here in every month of the year.
14 of them suits beginners. 34 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Bassin d'Arcachon, La Tranche-sur-Mer (Vendée) and Landes - Hossegor/Seignosse.
