Spiaggia 151 is a proper wind-sports beach on the Rimini side of Riccione, not a bathing establishment that tolerates kites. Blue Dreaming runs it as a school for sailing, surf, windsurf, kitesurf and SUP, with two exit corridors, changing rooms, warm showers, storage and a heated room for cold days when the wind is up.
At Bagno 151 the sand is fine and the bottom very flat, which is why first lessons work here. The wind is ordinary Romagna Adriatic rather than a trade wind: Bora, Levante and Scirocco are the named winds, and Bora comes in northerly, which at this beach can be offshore or side-off.
The operating window is 1 March to 31 October, with the centre also opening on winter days when the wind is up and conditions allow, while the 2026 bathing season officially runs 4 April to 2 November.
No public map of the active 2026 kite corridor exists, so the corridor you use is whatever the beach tells you on the day. Skip July and August unless you are here for the family holiday anyway, because swimmers, corridor rules and resort traffic peak together.

Typical strength

A light coast. Month by month the long-run wind series for this beach sits between 4 and 7 knots, thickest from March to October and thinnest in December and January, and only about 8-12 percent of readings reach 11 knots or more. A rideable day here is a Bora, Levante or Scirocco event rather than a daily breeze. Indicative: there is no measuring station on the sand, and the nearest long observation record, at Rimini airport 3 km inland, averages 6 knots from NNE across 2000-2026.

Variable Adriatic coastal wind. The corridors and the school make it easy to get on the water; a Bora going offshore, or a day with shore break, still needs a decision.
The centre's own operating period is 1 March to 31 October, and it also opens on winter days when the wind is up and conditions allow.
The 2026 municipal ordinance splits the year into a summer bathing season, 4 April to 2 November 2026, and a discretionary 'Mare d'Inverno' winter framework from 3 November 2026 to the Saturday before Easter 2027, so March to October is the certain riding season and winter access depends on the operator choosing to open rather than on a public calendar.
The wind record follows the same shape: March to October holds the windier months, ENE, and December to February the weakest, but even in the best month only about one reading in eight reaches 11 knots.

The quiver, in words

No size table has been published for the beach. On the light days that make up most of the season an 80 kg rider is on 12-15 m or a foil, and a proper Bora or Scirocco event brings that down to 9-12 m. Indicative, read off the wind record rather than measured here.

Direction to shore

The shoreline runs NW-SE and the beach faces roughly northeast. NE and ENE are onshore, E and ESE side-onshore, SE runs along the sand. N and NNW are cross-offshore, and anything from S through SW to W blows straight off the land.Bora spans N to NE on this coast, so whether it lands onshore or side-off depends on the day's exact angle. Check that before you rig, not after.

Dominant direction

ENE runs the months the centre is open, March to October; NW and N take over from November to February. Bora, Levante and Scirocco are the named winds, Bora arriving anywhere between N and NE.

modelled

A weather model's cell over this place, not a station on it. Good for comparing places, weaker for one beach.

Modelled from weather reanalysis on a 10–25 km grid (2022-2024), not a ground station: reliable for trade and synoptic winds, understates thermal sea breezes and valley winds. The typical daily max and the direction are columns of the table above, month by month. Highlighted months are the riding season from the spot record.

26.3°C summer · 9.2°C winter

Wetsuit

Light neoprene or no full suit in summer, depending on wind chill. Winter needs a proper cold-water suit: published Riccione sea averages drop to about 9-10 C in February.

Currents

Coastal currents are listed as a hazard; no measured current data was found.

Rescue

No dedicated kite-rescue service is published. The beach school teaches kite from a motorboat as well as from the sand, so a powerboat is often on the water during lesson hours in 2026, but that is instruction cover rather than a standing rescue service.
Bathing establishments on this stretch must run a bather-safety-assistance service from 16 May to 20 September 2026 under the municipal ordinance, which is swimmer rescue inside the buoyed zone, not offshore recovery.

Launch

Spiaggia 151 is a sailing-sports village with two boat exit corridors, changing rooms, warm showers, heated rooms for cold weather when the wind is up, and storage. Kitesurf sits alongside the other watersports taught there.

Rules & access
2026: Riccione's municipal ordinance (Ordinanza Balneare Comunale n. 1/2026, integrating the regional Ordinanza Balneare n. 1/2019) sets the 2026 summer bathing season from 4 April to 2 November, with a 'Mare d'Inverno' framework running from 3 November 2026 to the Saturday before Easter 2027 during which the municipality can set specific winter operating rules. Sailing/watercraft school activity, the category covering the beach's kite schools, requires a municipal authorization application filed at least 15 days before the start of activity; the authorization is issued only once the corresponding landing corridor is confirmed as authorized, following an opinion from the Capitaneria di Porto. Separately, activation notices for landing corridors under the regional bathing ordinance are due by 2 May each year. No corridor is named for kite use specifically; check local signage and the active corridor at Spiaggia 151 before launching. On the school side in 2026, kite lessons start at age 16 and require a medical certificate plus FIV (Italian Sailing Federation) membership, 10 euro under 18 and 15 euro from 18.

Access rules drift faster than anything else we hold — check locally, and propose an edit if this has changed.

Rider tips

  • Confirm the active kite corridor with Spiaggia 151 before you rig; no map of it is published.
  • Transit out and back through the corridor. Never ride inside the swimmer zone.
  • Treat a northerly Bora carefully, because at this beach it can blow offshore or side-off.
  • Bring big kites or a foil for summer freeride days; no typical size range has been published for Riccione.
  • Come by Metromare if you are staying in Rimini: about 23 minutes between the stations, and bus stop 36 drops you at the beach.
  • Check the wind angle, not just the wind name. NE is straight onshore here; N and NNW push you off the beach.
  • Kite lessons start at 16 and need a medical certificate and an FIV card, sold on the spot for 10-15 euro in 2026.
  • Plan for March to October. Outside that the centre opens only on days the wind is worth the drive, and there is no published winter calendar to book against.
